Freedom Missions has been partnering with Diego and Rhema Rocha for the last few years with House of Hope in New Delhi, India. Their school has been working with over 45 students daily giving them education, offering a sanctuary where street-bound children and teenagers can learn, grow, and envision a hopeful future. In addition to working with youth, over a year ago they began offering stitching classes to women in hopes that they would be able to find jobs. They envisioned that the vocational training program would be monumental in the lives of women who were not able to find jobs due to lack of training in a skill. However, after receiving training in the program, finding jobs still proved to be impossible for these ladies. Diego and Rhema decided to start their own Clothing and Handbag Company where they could hire these women. This is how Sheba Atelier Private Limited was born this last year in 2025!

What started as a vocational training project has become a place of restoration, belonging, and real transformation within the community in New Delhi that The House of Hope serves. Over the past few months, they have witnessed something that goes far beyond manual work. Through sewing, classes, and daily fellowship, God has created a safe environment where women and young people are finding dignity, care, and love. Their students and participants have often stated that this is the only place where they feel safe, welcomed, and valued. This has allowed the women to provide some much needed income for their families who have been really struggling with making ends meet.

Today, they already have waiting lines of people wanting to join the courses. This brings everyone joy, but it also brings challenges. They want to grow responsibly while maintaining quality and personal care for each individual. The women have declared that regardless of how little they make, that will not affect their dedication to their job. They feel so loved working there. They feel like it is their safe place, and it is the only environment where their families allow them to be. It is clear that God is building something there that goes far beyond a job. It is a space of dignity and belonging! One of the women who had been there for years was rescued from human trafficking. She is seeking a new place to live since her current living situation is very, very difficult. They are praying for God’s deliverance, and walking with her through the process for an open door and safe place to live!
There is a desire for expansion of this blooming business. They are also working on preparing a new space where the women can sew. They are currently renovating a new room where the sewing and production will take place. This will allow them to really grow the business and produce more garments and handbags to sell! Their desire is to open new job opportunities and reach more women. They remain committed to doing everything in God’s timing, with prudence and excellence.

We at Freedom Missions are honored to walk with them through the process as partners. It has been incredible to hear how these women at Sheba Atelier now have a voice. They have become instruments of transformation in their community.
